ARTIST PROFILE

A Visual Journey

Marie Medjine Antoine is a Black Haitian femme artist who uses art to express herself and navigate life. Their interest includes painting, dancing, writing, curating, archiving and fashion. Her goal is to create spaces that centers Blackness. Driven to curatorial work and art direction, she is passionate about developing art education in underserve communities, making space for Black folks to express themselves beyond the ideological and material limitations imposed by systems of oppression. To this end Medjine has coordinated multiple arts exhibitions and event geared towards the uplift of Black artists and artist of color. Through her archival research and her artistry, Medjine hopes to become a witness, and to uplift these stories as well as her own
